Hey everyone!
Tonight was a truly amazing and inspiring night, and I feel the best I have felt in a long time. Liam and I were jamming on our ukuleles, as usual, when we decided that our daily laid back "let's play music" sessions should turn into something more. I ran downstairs to get Luke and his cajone, and Lydia and her angelic voice. It took a lot of persuading in order to pull them away from their desks during finals week, especially since the noise restrictions are 10 times as strict as normal and no one wants to get written up. We had already been messing around with the song Sleepyhead by Passion Pit and we had it down on ukulele with Liam singing. After adding in Lydia on guitar and vocals, Dylan whistling, and Luke on drums (pounding a big plastic box with makeshift mallet), Alex came in to help us record our acoustic version of the song. To all of our surprises, everyone sounded great together and Liam's arrangement of the song worked perfectly with all of the different instruments. It isn't quite perfect but it's definitely a start and the process was a ton of fun. Hopefully this is the first song we record of many, enjoy! [:
